Weekend News
Ekin - I don't remember, I made a downstairs bed it's for my space cat.
Ada - I went to the beach with my dad, mommy and my baby brother Anis stay home. I climb the rock at the beach. There are big big rocks at the beach. There were geese floating in the water for some reason. There was a cave at the beach and I also went to a museum but you can touch everything at the museum and that's it.
Surai - I drive in my car, go on the airplane and then taxi to hotel.
Jackson -I went to basketball and then I went to swim. I don't remember anything else.
Zoey - Mommy do my hair. I go Beauty and the Beast my mommy and daddy and me there at the night time see the show. Mommy play with me. We paint house, our house not yet because we moved stuff.
After reading the story, Grandma's cookies. The Cardinals worked on a journal entry titled, "How would you make your favorite cookie?
Today the Cardinals practiced yoga in gym class with Josh!

Tuesday
Johana met the Cardinals at the art room door. She explained that today, we will be working on sand art. Johana then demonstrates some of the things friends could create. Friends were then given glue sticks to use as pencils or pencils, along with brown, white or yellow paper and different colored sand. The Cardinals were creative and very excited as they designed with glue sticks, added sand of choice and then shook the sand off and discovered magic. Ask your Cardinal what they did in art class?
Wednesday
The Cardinals engaged in Meeting for Worship in our classroom. We did our activity with blocks. Friends have done this activity a few times now and did a great job remembering the two important rules. The rules were not to move someone's blocks and that we need to be in silence as we worked. We then asked each Cardinal, "What were you thinking about and What do you think our creation looks like?" Here is what friends had to say:
James M. - I was thinking about my highland cow stuffy. It looks like a highland cow city.
Willow- I was thinking that it was a city with all the tall buildings.
Ada- I was thinking maybe it was going to be bunny land and it is.
Shanaya- It looks like New York City. I was thinking it looks like the farm.
Cooper- I was thinking we making statues. It looks like pumpkin city.
Jackson- I was thinking it was part of my Minecraft and bat stuffies and cat world.
Zoey- It looks like gymnastics.
Olivia- I was thinking a house, it looks like my house.
Lydia- I was thinking about it was horsey town.
Ellery- I was thinking it looks like New York.
Ekin- I was thinking about space cat because it looks like space cats city it's as big as that.
James V. - I was thinking it looks like a city
Julian- I was thinking it was like my city and my home.
Grant- I think Penguin puffin city house and city house.
Ada led us into music class. We warmed up with scarves and egg shakers to the song, Turn up the Base by Asir. Followed by the sing and movements to, There's A Little Wheel Turning In My Heart and John The Rabbit. Keisha then had a conversation with the Cardinals about the animals they're studying and which music instrument we could use for each animal group. The instruments the Cardinals decided on were bells, drums, sand blocks and rhythm sticks. Ask your Cardinal what instrument you chose for your animal study?
Thursday
In Spanish class with Alicia, the Cardinals did their greetings in Spanish. Followed by reading the book Max and the Talent Show. Today it was Ekin's turn to squeeze la vaca!
Friends continued working on the outside of their animal habitats.
Friday
The Cardinals attended our lower school assembly followed by joining our entire school in participating in a day of silences. We all met in the gym as it was raining and stayed in silence for 10 minutes before returning to our classroom.
After morning meeting and snack time, the Cardinals returned their books to the library and listened to a story read by Ashanti. They then picked and checked out a book to bring back to our classroom.
