Today's gym class was titled The Turkey Bowl. Friends used bowling pins, soft balls and soft frisbees to knock down pins or roll balls to knot pins over. The Cardinal worked individually, in twos or in small groups. Somehow this all turned into "catch Josh" as the Cardinals chased Josh around the gym. Afterwards friends moved like a turkey, hopped like a frog, galloped like a horse, ran like a cheetah, and walked like an elephant. Ask your Cardinal what was fun about gym today?

Tuesday

Today we continued talking about being thankful. We read the book, I Am Thankful by Kathryn Jewitt followed by having a group conversation about the book. The Cardinals then worked on a journal entry titled, What are you thankful for? and Why? Friends drew pictures of what they're thankful for and then gave dictation or worked on kid writing to complete their work.

Early this morning the Cardinals headed over to the meetinghouse
along with all lower school students and teachers. We all settled into silence and then Andrea read us a book about giving thanks. We ended  our silence with Keisha guiding us all in singing our part of the Thanks-A-Lot song as she played her guitarIt was such a warm wonderful feeling being all together and singing this amazing song!

The Cardinals warmed up to Hamsters On A Piano by Parry Gripp in music class. We then had a moment of silence to settle our bodies after dancing, followed by singing our hello song Jambo. Friends did  movements and sang Here is a bunny. Keisha's friend (Peter Rabbit) who use a speaking voice introduced us to another friend (Betty the butterfly) and she like to use a whispering voice. The Cardinals then made a choice of using their speaking or whispering voice as they spoke to Keisha. Keisha told the Cardinals that they will be other friends that will introduced different tones of voice. Keisha then read the book, The Animal Boogie and the Cardinals acted out the animals in the book. Nice work Cardinals!! Ask your Cardinal to name 2-3 animals in the book?

Back in our classroom, the Cardinals listened to the book, Reach Out And Give by Cheri J Meiners, M.Ed. before sharing a FriendsGiving snack of Hawaiian rolls with/without cream cheese, little bites muffins, grapes, strawberries, yogurt, veggie straws and pirate booty. We all had a fun time eating and having conversation!! The bowls were refilled and all friends had 2-6 helpings!! We turned the tables into a rocket ship and ate our FriendsGiving snack family style!!

Happy Thanksgiving, to you from us!!
